Sales Manager – SM is one of the most senior sales roles. Only focal and pivotal responsibility of SM is to increase sales for the product and develop customer relationships. SM will be responsible for the frequent liaison with wholesale distributors, retail stores, Hoteliers, Event Managers and pub operators. SM will design and implement sales strategy keeping production and distribution in loop. Motivating sales team is the key to all.
This is a pivotal role in a Brewery and the ability of SM to do their job well can determine the long-term success of the Company.
Some of the key responsibilities of a SM
- Focus on growing the acceptability of our product in present market and foster growth in sales.
- Project a vivid branding to drive growth in existing market. The brand has to be well-represented and effective to boost the higher sales.
- Profit and loss responsibility for each channel to be maintained separately to refocus on week markets.
- Liaise with customers in a positive and effective way to solve their problems. Briefing them continuously about developments in products will make them equipped to foster good sale of our product.
- Ensure that customers have product plenty in number without scarcity at any time.
- SM is responsible for managing a motivated team of sales force for effectively generating sales. Keep guiding them with knowledge to ensure the team is ever motivated and happy.
- SM must achieve sales targets and should have a deep understanding of how to track sales and make improvements to meet those targets.
- SM will manage budgets for the sales team and their activities, alongside marketing budgets. These budgets will have a long term direction of the company for new accounts generation looking at futuristic approach. SM should be able to break down the targets into Sub-regional and Territorial targets in reasonably stretched manner.
